Are You Clearing Out Your Country Property?

Have you come to the realization that your country property has so much stuff on it that it no longer holds its original appeal? Perhaps you have accumulated things like machinery that never got repaired, old bicycles that are never used, and even furniture that you thought you would some day restore. It might even be that you have old cars that you stripped while you were renovating the vehicle you now drive. Whatever the reason that your country property has become an actual mess, from enlisting help to making arrangements for a dump truck, here are some ideas that might help you.

Enlist Some Help - Do you still have kids living at home? Do you have a spouse? If so, consider enlisting their help. Another idea is to put out the word to friends that you are clearing out your property and that whatever anybody wants is free for the taking. You might be pleasantly surprised at how much stuff is removed just by making that declaration. On the other hand, it may not be true that "One man's trash is another man's treasure." It's worth a try, though.

Circle a day or several days on your calendar that will indicate the time allotted to your clearing project. If family members or friends are going to be helping you, be sure that they know when the project will happen so that they can clear their own calendars to help you.

Get Organized - Start with a plan. For example, if there are things that can be used by a charity organization, put those items aside and arrange for the charity organization to send somebody to pick the things up. If your kids have left toys out that are still in good shape, get them to put those toys in their proper place. And, for the rest of what you call junk, make arrangements for a dump truck to take everything off your property. Of course, if you have a truck and not that much stuff, you might be able to do the job yourself. However, if you do decide to rent a dump truck, you will more than likely be surprised at how affordable that service is.

When you make arrangements to rent the dump truck, or to hire somebody else to haul your things away, be sure to give an approximation of how much will be moved. Also, be clear on the date and the time that you need the dump truck.
